Please note: camping at Star Forest Stay is rustic. There is limited electricity, and cellphone service is extremely limited for some carriers. There is a port-a-john and water for hand washing nearby. Drinking water + Cold Shower and sit down area is available at a centrally located water station.
We will also have a 3 burner grill + blackstone griddle for you to use to cook evening meals that you brought outside. Bonfires will be in a designated area. No Pets/Animals will be permitted. Please find a sitter. We will have a limited amount of receptacles around the Star Forest Stay site for trash and recycling, but we appreciate it if you "pack it in, pack it out"!
And finally, you understand that you will be sober, drug, smoke + vape free prior to arriving to the retreat and will not bring any of these types of items upon entering the retreat space and during your entire stay when leaving the retreat space.

August 18th: FIRST EVENING
- 4pm EST CHECK-IN Make sure you have filled out and signed the waiver before staying on the property.
- 630pm = Gathering by the back of the star forest stay cabin for grilling food and dinner.
- 8pm = Group hike to east trails to watch sunset and bathe in Lake Huron Sunset is Scheduled for 8:32 pm EST.
- 930pm = Movie night under the stars in the star forest (We'll select as a group on what to watch).
- 11pm = 4 minute drive for an outdoor Bonfire and star gazing at Port Crescent State Park Dark Sky Preserve. Night swimming encouraged.

625 am: hike to East Trails to observe the morning sunrise. Bring soap, towel if you want to bathe and wash. 6:40 AM official Sunrise.

4pm-6pm: Michigan Philharmonic at Gallup Park
The Michigan Philharmonic is returning to Huron County with a very special live performance featuring the likes of Spiderman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Incredibles, Captain America and much more.
Music lovers from all over “the Thumb” in Michigan will get to experience the outdoor concert, “Movie Icons and Superheroes," as the Philharmonic soars into Port Austin's Gallup Park on Saturday, Aug. 19 beginning at 4 p.m.
This is the second appearance by the Michigan Philharmonic as part of the Port Austin Artist-in-Residence Program. Led by longtime Music Director and Conductor Nan Washburn, the free concert will offer up a fun mix of movie music with a nod to famous movie icons too.

830 pm = Self hike through the East Trails to watch sunset, and bathe in Lake Huron Sunset is Scheduled for 8:32 pm EST.

AUGUST 20th: LAST MORNING
6am: morning coffee served by Greater Alexander (add on donors) inside the cabin kitchen island.
625 am: Meet at front of Star Forest Cabin: hike to East Trails to observe the morning sunrise. Bring soap, towel if you want to bathe and wash a final time in Lake Huron. 6:40 AM official Sunrise.
8-930a: Morning breakfast served by Greater Alexander (offered to creatives from add-on donation) inside the cabin kitchen island.
10-11a: Morning Fire and Final Group Gathering Farewell and final thoughts.
1145am: Pack up Tents and prepare for departure.
Located at the tip of the thumb, the Star Forest Stay retreat space is located in Port Austin, Michigan closer to Port Crescent State Park.
We are about 2 Hours From Rochester, 2.5 hours from Detroit, 2.75 hours from Ann-Arbor.

Songwriters/poets/artists of all kinds are welcome to reserve a limited spot and be ready to share amongst other creatives. Participating in retreats like this helps raise the quality of each other with an honest approach towards listening and reviewing works in real time.
